Georgian Dream government head Irakli Kobakhidze said that Georgia is ready to establish diplomatic relations with the Republic of Naoero (formerly Nauru) and contribute to deepening cooperation.
Naoero’s decision to revoke diplomatic relations with Georgia’s Russian-occupied regions of Abkhazia and the so-called South Ossetia was announced on July 21. The authorities in Sokhumi and Tskhinvali said the move was a result of Western pressure on Naoero.
Irakli Kobakhidze said that Naoero’s decision once again confirms that respect for and adherence to international law are the foundation of healthy international relations.
