Georgian Dream government head Irakli Kobakhidze said that Georgia is ready to establish diplomatic relations with the Republic of Nauru and contribute to deepening cooperation.
Nauru’s decision to revoke diplomatic relations with Georgia’s Russian-occupied regions of Abkhazia and the so-called South Ossetia became known on July 21. The authorities in Sokhumi and Tskhinvali said the move was a result of Western pressure on Nauru.
Irakli Kobakhidze said that Nauru’s decision once again confirms that respect for and adherence to international law are the foundation of healthy international relations.
