The Anti-Corruption Agency of Georgia’s State Security Service has detained two individuals on charges of large-scale fraud and falsification.
The investigation established that the companies “B.G.M.1” and “Georgian Meat Products Farm” had won tenders announced by the Marneuli and Kareli municipal kindergarten associations to supply beef to kindergartens.
The directors of the companies allegedly supplied horse meat instead of beef to kindergartens in May 2026, deceiving authorities and fraudulently obtaining a large amount of money from the state budget.
The investigation is ongoing under Article 180, Part 3(b), and Article 197, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which carry a sentence of 6 to 9 years in prison.
