Armenia’s Public Radio reported that Russia’s product labeling system “Chestny Znak” has suspended the sale of more than 70,000 bottles of drinking water and soft drinks imported from Armenia following an order from the consumer protection authorities (Rospotrebnadzor).
The Center for Research in Perspective Technologies (CRPT), which operates the system, said the measure was taken after violations of mandatory product requirements were identified. they claim the aim is to prevent possible risks to consumers’ health.
The restrictions affect specific batches of BJNI mineral water produced by RRR Mineral Water Plant CJSC, “Prosto Azbuka” drinking water by WATERLOCK LLC, and DARBAS-brand “Mojito” soft drinks by Arsen ev Nerses LLC.
CRPT emphasized that the suspension applies only to products manufactured on certain dates and does not affect other goods from the companies. The blocked batches cannot be sold in stores or online until inspections are completed.
The operator added that “Chestny Znak” is linked to Russian cash registers, allowing restricted products to be automatically removed from sale.
