Speaking at the second session of the Georgia-Kyrgyzstan Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation in Bishkek, Kvrivishvili highlighted the growing importance of the Middle Corridor and Georgia’s role in regional transport and logistics networks.
The meeting was held during the visit of the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, to the Kyrgyz Republic and was co-chaired by Kvrivishvili and the Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan, Bakyt Sidikov.
Kvrivishvili described the Georgian Prime Minister’s visit as an important step in strengthening bilateral relations and noted that cooperation with Central Asia, including Kyrgyzstan, remains one of Georgia’s strategic priorities.
The minister pointed to Georgia’s economic growth and investment potential, emphasizing that the government continues to invest in transport and logistics infrastructure as the Middle Corridor gains importance in connecting Asia and Europe.
The commission also discussed opportunities to expand bilateral trade and strengthen cooperation in transport, tourism, civil aviation, and digital connectivity.
Participants highlighted cooperation within regional initiatives, including TRACECA and CAREC, and noted Georgia’s growing role as a regional digital hub.
The session concluded with the signing of a protocol outlining future areas of cooperation between the two countries.
The Georgian delegation included the Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture, Davit Songulashvili, Deputy Head of the Government Administration Ilia Shamugia, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Genadi Arveladze, and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Aleksandre Khvtisiashvili.
