Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze has called on holders of category A taxi lifetime permits to pay accumulated debts on time, warning that permits could be canceled if obligations are not met.
Kaladze made the statement at a Tbilisi government meeting, saying that more than 1,000 permit holders continue to ignore permit conditions despite previous exemptions from fines under the law on exemption from administrative penalties.
He said drivers are failing to pay the fee for issuing permits, resulting in additional debt accumulation over previous months.
“Of course, we send all license holders corresponding text messages to their personal numbers and they have the information, but once again I want to call on them — friends, be sure to pay the debt. Otherwise, we will have to cancel these permits, which cannot be restored later,” Kaladze said.
The issue concerns individuals who have not paid the fee for category A taxi lifetime permits from October 2025 onwards.
