An altercation in Tbilisi yesterday near the “Ghrmaghele” metro station resulted in three people being stabbed. One of the victims died shortly after arriving at the hospital due to life-threatening injuries.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported the suspect fled the scene following the attack. Emergency medical services transported all three injured individuals to a medical facility, where R.R., born in 1983, succumbed to his wounds.
Law enforcement officers from the Tbilisi Police Department arrested the alleged attacker, Z.F., born in 1985, within hours of the incident. He is charged with the attempted premeditated murder of two or more persons under aggravating circumstances. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years or life in prison.
The weapon used in the assault—a knife—was seized as evidence. The investigation is ongoing under Article 19-109, subsection “l” of the Criminal Code.
