The Ministry of Health reported that around 150,000 people in Georgia have already received the four-component seasonal influenza vaccine. The French-produced vaccine, purchased by the Ministry, is being offered free of charge to the public.
Health officials report that the A/H3N2 strain is currently the dominant virus across all regions, though other respiratory infections, such as rhinoviruses, parainfluenza, and respiratory syncytial virus, are also circulating. The Ministry continues to urge vaccination for everyone, particularly those in high-risk groups, including pregnant women, the elderly, children over six months, people with suppressed immune systems and individuals with chronic conditions.
Authorities emphasize the importance of preventive measures, such as regular hand washing, airing indoor spaces and avoiding crowded places when experiencing symptoms. The Ministry notes that the epidemiological situation remains manageable and that healthcare facilities are fully prepared to provide timely services during the seasonal peak.
