Mtavari reports that a search and rescue operation for 30-year-old Elene Sakheishvili has entered its second day in the Khobistskali River in Khobi Municipality. Police, emergency responders, and ambulance crews are mobilized at the scene.
The incident occurred on August 6. According to available information, Sakheishvili was at the river with her 7-year-old son, Lazare, when the boy fell into the water. The mother jumped into the river to save him, but both were swept away by the current.
Lazare’s body was found approximately 400 meters from the site of the incident. The search for Elene Sakheishvili is ongoing.
