The Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia announced that construction is in progress on a large-scale residential complex in Rustavi to provide housing for internally displaced people (IDPs). The project will deliver fully renovated apartments to up to 800 displaced families across four newly built residential buildings.
Funded entirely by the state budget, the project’s total cost amounts to GEL 80.9 million and is designed to meet modern living standards. It includes additional infrastructure such as a stadium, children’s playgrounds and outdoor exercise areas.
The Agency for IDPs, Eco-Migrants and Livelihood Provision is currently reviewing applications submitted by families seeking accommodation in the new complex. Each applicant household is assigned a pre-score based on criteria defined by legislation. Following the evaluation process, a commission will determine which applicants qualify for the next stage of monitoring and final allocation.
Deputy Minister Giorgi Tsagareishvili and agency head Davit Kaikatsishvili have already visited the site to assess construction progress.
