Levan Khabeishvili: Misha, We Won’t Stop until Your Life and Health Are Secured

We are not going to celebrate – the process that will lead our country to victory begins today. Misha [Saakashvili], I want to promise you that we will not stop until your life and health are secured, – said the new chairman of the National Movement, Levan Khabeishvili, at a briefing held at the party’s office.

Khabeishvili claimed that the National Movement is starting a difficult but continuous fight with a new attitude, and his party will be open to all new people.

“With these elections, the National Movement proved that it is simply impossible to defeat it, to remove it from the battlefield. With these elections, the National Movement proved that it is not an ordinary party, but a great unity of tireless people who long for victory for our country. Let’s prove to everyone – enemies and friends, everyone, inside and outside the country, that we are loyal to the values that were the foundation of the National Movement. We are committed to the values that created the Rose Revolution. Democracy is not a word for us. The National Movement is the only party in Georgia that proves its commitment to democratic, western values, and this election is a clear and direct manifestation of this.

“We are not going to celebrate. The process that will lead our country to victory begins today, as Misha and his comrades did in 2003. We are going to work, and we will never tire of this work. From today, with a new attitude, we begin a difficult but continuous fight to defeat the Russian oligarchic regime. That is why, from today, the National Movement will be open to all new people, to all our comrades, old and new, who can lay even one brick in this struggle. This victory belongs to Mikheil Saakashvili, who is now fighting for his life, and his fight is also related to the freedom of our country. Obviously, the first decisions will be related to the fight for President Saakashvili’s freedom. Misha, I want to promise you that we will not stop until your life and health are secured for the freedom of our country,” he said.

Levan Khabeishvili became the new chairman of United National Movement as a result of elections, seeing him winning 52.58% of the votes.
