US Congressman Joe Wilson (Republican Party) issued a sharp criticism of Georgia’s ruling party, writing on social media that the country is “occupied by two forces.”
“Georgia is occupied by two forces: Russia and the Russia/China puppet ‘Georgian Dream,’” Wilson stated.
He emphasized that the bond between the American and Georgian people remains strong and rooted in shared democratic values.
“The friendship between the United States and the Georgian people, bound by a shared love of freedom, is unshakable. Passing the MEGOBARI Act — which means ‘friend’ in Georgian — will be proof of this truth!” the congressman wrote.
The MEGOBARI Act, currently under discussion in the US Congress, aims to enhance support for Georgian civil society and democratic institutions amid growing concerns over Tbilisi’s political direction.
