The National Statistics Office’s newly released data reveals that Georgia recorded a total of 40,464 crimes in the first nine months of 2025. The figures show persistent challenges in public safety, with property crimes, drug-related offenses and road accidents dominating the statistics.
Property-related offenses made up the largest share, with almost 13,000 cases reported. Drug crimes followed, exceeding 7,000 incidents while nearly 6,000 cases were categorized as crimes against health.
Road traffic incidents continue to be a major concern for authorities. Between January and September, 4,480 road accidents were reported, 345 of which resulted in fatalities. While the number of fatal cases has decreased slightly compared to 444 deaths recorded in 2024, officials stress that road safety remains a national priority.
Meanwhile, the number of fire incidents has increased sharply. Geostat registered 11,722 fires so far this year, already exceeding the totals for both 2023 and 2024 combined. These incidents have claimed 41 lives and destroyed nearly 400 buildings across the country.
