The Georgian Competition and Consumer Agency (GCCA) has fined LLC Imermedi — Imereti Regional Medical Centre (Terjolamedi) — GEL 8,000 for failing to provide information requested by the agency.
The GCCA says it requested information from the company as part of a monitoring initiative into the healthcare services market to assess the competitive environment. The company failed to submit the requested materials within the required deadline and did not respond to a repeated request from the agency.
Following an examination of the case, the GCCA imposed fines on the company on two separate occasions, totaling GEL 8,000.
Under Georgian legislation, the agency has the authority to request necessary information, including confidential data, from businesses during administrative proceedings. Failure to provide requested information within the set deadline can result in a GEL 3,000 fine for legal entities. If the information is still not submitted after an additional deadline, companies may face an additional GEL 5,000 fine.
