NCDC Head: We’re Back in the Red Zone, Wearing Masks Outdoors Should Be Reintroduced

Amiran Gamkrelidze, head of the National Center for Disease Control, said at a briefing that employers should ensure that a newly vaccinated person stays at home for one or two days.

“First of all, it is necessary to give the person one or two days after vaccination. Employers must ensure this so that the person is home after getting a vaccine. At the Centers for Disease Control, for example, I give a day off to people who are getting vaccinated. Currently, 61 percent of people working at the Centers for Disease Control are vaccinated and we want to reach 80-85 percent by the end of August,” stated Gamkrelidze.

head of the National Center for Disease Control noted that this is only a recommendation and said they also have presented other recommendations. Gamkrelidze called on employers to encourage employees and added that certain allowances should be imposed for fully vaccinated people.
