The party says about 20 youths attacked Gogichaishvili near the Technical University metro station following his appearance as a guest on the PalitraNews program.
The press service says Levan Gogichaishvili has been transferred to hospital and is not in a critical condition.
“After Bidzina Ivanishvili’s threat, this directly means that it was organized by him, and of course it is connected to the political activities of Levan Gogichaishvili,” the For Georgia party says.
The party leader, Giorgi Gakharia, responded to the incident on social media, claiming that the attack was organized by the ruling party.
“One of the leaders of our team, Levan Gogichaishvili, was attacked by a group of Dream-organized criminals, about 20 people.
“If Ivanishvili thinks that he will frighten us, or Levan, who fought against the violent regime of the National Movement all his life, with their methods, violence, he is very wrong!” Gakharia stated.
