The anti-LGBT law, as well as the adoption of the “Agents Law”, are straight out of the Kremlin’s authoritarian handbook, Freedom House wrote in a statement, calling on Georgian officials to reverse the course.
“We strongly condemn the decision of the Parliament of Georgia, which is nothing but an attack on the LGBT+ community of Georgia and the fundamental freedoms of all Georgians.
“This move, like the adoption of the “Agents Law” in the country last May, is straight out of the Kremlin’s authoritarian handbook and calls Georgia’s democratic trajectory into question again.
“We call on the officials of Georgia to reverse the course”, the statement said.
