The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Mariam Kvrivishvili, met with the Director of the Cyberspace Administration of the People’s Republic of China, Zhuang Rongwen.
The Ministry says the sides discussed the strategic partnership between Georgia and China, with a focus on strengthening bilateral economic ties. Trade and economic cooperation between the two countries was highlighted as contributing to closer links between government and business sectors.
Discussions also covered cooperation in communications, information, and modern technologies, which the Ministry states will support the development of the digital economy.
Kvrivishvili presented Georgia’s digital economy priorities, noting the country’s ambition to position itself as a digital transit hub connecting Asia and Europe. The Minister said the development of large-scale data centers is strategically important and could help establish Georgia as a regional digital hub.
The sides also discussed potential cooperation in this direction, including collaboration between public and private sectors in the use and implementation of artificial intelligence.
