Cruise ship Astoria Grande leaves Batumi amid protests

The cruise ship that arrived from Sochi has left the port of Batumi amid protests.

Citizens protested the arrival of Russian tourists with shouts and demanded that the port of Batumi be removed from the destination of the cruise ship.

The law enforcement officers were mobilized at the site all the time. The port area was surrounded by iron barricades. 23 people were arrested during the rally.

For information, the Astoria Grande cruise liner that arrived from Sochi was met with a protest in Batumi port. Citizens and representatives of opposition parties held a demonstration near the port.

Citizens started gathering late at night. A large number of police officers were mobilized and iron dams were installed on the spot.
