“Birds Don’t Forget to Fly” — a campaign created by director Giorgi Okmelashvili and actor Andro Chichinadze — has been shortlisted in two categories at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity: The Lion for Change and the Titanium Lion.
Created for Georgia’s Independence Day in 2025, the campaign follows a simple yet powerful storyline: a girl visits a market each day, buys caged birds, takes them into the forest, and sets them free. Its message is that the pursuit of freedom is as natural and inevitable for people as flight is for birds.
The film was directed by Okmelashvili. The narration, which carries the video’s central emotional message, is voiced by actor Chichinadze.
“Birds Don’t Forget to Fly” was produced by PSP in cooperation with the Playmakers agency.
