Antony Blinken: The US offers condolences for those affected by landslides in Georgia

The United States offers our condolences for those affected by landslides in Georgia, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken wrote on Twitter.

“We stand with our friend Georgia and commend the incredible dedication of first responders who are working tirelessly to save lives and attend to the injured”, he tweeted.

For information, a landslide occurred in Shovi on August 3. At the site of the disaster, search and rescue operations are still ongoing at 10 locations. Up to 10 people are still missing.

Police units, firemen-rescuers of the emergency management service, a group of cynologists, border police helicopters, drones and special equipment are involved in the search and rescue operations. Also, employees of the Ministry of Defense and the Department of Roads of the Ministry of Infrastructure are working in the disaster area.
