13 people arrested during a peaceful protest remain in pre-trial detention. They are charged with administrative offenses. It is unknown when the trial will be held.
Most of the detainees were physically assaulted by the police. The Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested a total of 16 people yesterday. Three of them, including two women and Mtavari Arkhi cameraman Sergi Baramidze, were released yesterday.
Sergi Baramidze was attacked and physically assaulted by about 10 police officers while performing his professional duties on Melikishvili Avenue. He has an injured eye. He will be questioned by the Special Investigation Service today. The agency will then decide whether to launch an investigation against the police officers.
