Students in Georgia will study several subjects under a revised timetable beginning in the 2026–2027 academic year, based on a new hourly schedule that has been distributed to schools but has not yet been officially approved.
Under the planned changes, Chemistry will be introduced from the 7th grade instead of the 8th grade.
Starting from the 7th grade, Georgian Language and Georgian Literature will also be taught as separate subjects, rather than as a combined course. In addition, Georgian History and World History will be taught separately from the 7th grade.
The revised curriculum also increases the number of teaching hours allocated to Georgian Language and Literature and Mathematics at the primary school level.
Another major change concerns History in the 10th grade. Under the proposed timetable, World History will no longer be included in the curriculum from the 10th grade onward, with students studying only Georgian History.
