US Department of State: We are closely monitoring the protests

We are closely monitoring the protests. We call on the authorities and all citizens to respect the freedom of peaceful assembly, to avoid escalation, and to respect the rule of law. – says the US Department of State.

“We are deeply concerned by the Government of Georgia’s continued discussions of Kremlin-inspired foreign agents law. We call on the Government of Georgia to take into account the warnings that this draft law does not comply with the norms and values of the European Union and will negatively affect Georgia’s progress on the path to the EU.”
