Armenia has received 56 Starlink satellite internet terminals to strengthen emergency communications during natural disasters, rescue operations, and other crisis situations, the country’s authorities announced.
The equipment was donated following cooperation between the Armenian Ministry of High-Tech Industry, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and Starlink. The terminals have already arrived in Armenia and will be transferred to the Rescue Service under the Interior Ministry.
Officials say the devices will provide reliable, high-speed internet when conventional communication networks are unavailable, overloaded, or disrupted, helping emergency responders maintain communications during rescue missions and natural disasters.
Armenian Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan announced the donation on Facebook, saying the initiative followed discussions between the government and the US-based satellite internet provider.
Starlink, operated by SpaceX, provides broadband internet through a network of low-Earth orbit satellites and is widely used to maintain communications in remote areas and during emergencies. Armenian officials say the latest donation builds on the company’s ongoing cooperation with the country’s government.
