With this statement, Salome Zurabishvili is responding to the incident that occurred between the supporters of the two countries after the Georgia-Armenia match.
“This is for those who love to apologize in the wrong place and in the wrong direction.
“As the still legitimate president, I want to apologize in my role as president to our neighboring peoples for the disgraceful behavior of some of our rootless citizens.
“We are and will continue to be neighborly states, nations with an ancient Christian faith, and we will live in a peaceful European Caucasus!” – she wrote on Facebook.
