Romanian airline DAN AIR will launch direct flights to Tbilisi alongside new routes to Amman and Yerevan starting July 1, 2026, as part of a wider expansion of its Bucharest network.

The carrier will operate Tbilisi flights from Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, using Airbus A320 aircraft with 180-seat capacity.

The move comes as DAN AIR adds four new destinations to its summer schedule, including Amman (Jordan), Yerevan (Armenia), Tbilisi (Georgia) and Aleppo (Syria), with Aleppo becoming a permanent destination in the network.

The airline says the expansion reflects strong demand on routes between the European Union, the Caucasus and the Middle East, and follows rapid growth in its scheduled operations.

“In 2025, we carried more than 272,000 passengers, which confirms the real need for connectivity in these markets,” said Matt Ian David, CEO of DAN AIR. “We are expanding further into underserved destinations such as Tbilisi, Yerevan and Amman, while strengthening our presence in Syria.”

DAN AIR will also become the only European Union airline operating flights to two Syrian cities simultaneously, Damascus and Aleppo, following its entry into the Syrian market in 2025.

Aleppo was previously served temporarily due to operational restrictions on Damascus, but will now be operated on a permanent basis twice weekly from July 2026.

Alongside the new routes, the airline has submitted requests to expand further into Baghdad, Baku, Beirut and Cairo as part of its long-term network growth strategy.

DAN AIR, founded in 2017, has transported more than 4 million passengers and operates both scheduled services and ACMI operations for international carriers.
