Mamuka Mamulashvili claims Russian woman involved in Telavi incident is wanted in Ukraine

The commander of the Georgian Legion, Mamuka Mamulashvili, has claimed that one of the Russian women involved in the recent incident at a hotel in Telavi is wanted by Ukrainian authorities.

In a post on social media, Mamulashvili alleged that the woman had been passing information to Russia and that criminal proceedings had been launched against her in Ukraine.

“Based on available information, she was providing intelligence to the enemy and was the subject of a criminal case in Ukraine. That is why she was hiding in Moscow. We hope that Georgia’s law enforcement agencies will soon make public information about who this person really is,” Mamulashvili wrote.

The incident took place at the Agarani Estate hotel in Telavi. Reportedly, Russian-speaking women insulted wedding guests from a hotel balcony and poured liquid on them. A man attending the wedding then went to their room to speak with them, after which a physical altercation broke out.

The foreign nationals later published a video on social media, claiming they had been attacked by a Georgian man because they were speaking Russian.

Georgi Chighladze was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident. Earlier today, the Prosecutor’s Office announced that it is seeking GEL 5,000 bail as a preventive measure in his case.

Mamulashvili’s claims regarding the identity of one of the women and her alleged criminal status in Ukraine have not been independently verified, and Ukrainian or Georgian authorities have not publicly confirmed the allegations.
