Riot police on the Chichinadze Road side of the parliament building, having withstood a bombardment of eggs, plastic bottles and fireworks for the past two hours, began firing the water jets at protesters without the customary warning message to disperse.
A small group of demonstrators continue to throw fireworks, some dancing and singing in front of the water cannon. The majority of protesters remain on Rustaveli Avenue, singing, waving flags and chanting “Saqartvelo.”
As per the past nights of protests, it will be just a matter of time before the riot team begin moving the water cannon down, while a second team from Freedom Square bring their water cannon along the avenue to clear the demonstrators from the territory of the parliament building.
