Protesters move back to Chavchavadze; riot police may follow

At 05:30, the rally-goers decided to pull back to Melikishvili Street and Chavchavadze Avenue, as they have each morning since protests started five days ago, allowing clean-up crews to get Rustaveli Avenue ready for the day’s business.

Today, however, there are rumors the riot police may choose to follow and apprehend them. The water cannons have been withdrawn. A number of riot police are at the top of Rustaveli Avenue and it is unclear what their orders are. Some have left in cars.

The mood among protesters is positive and unafraid. Some are building barriers in place to prepare for a potential confrontation in the new location.
