PM Garibashvili

“We are appointing two vice-prime ministers today. Ms. Tea Tsulukiani to be the Deputy Prime Minister and Mr. Levan Davitashvili,” announced the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, at a government meeting today, July 12.

Tea Tsulukiani is the Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, and Levan Davitashvili is the Minister of Agriculture.

“Of course, this is another unsuccessful conspiracy against the state. The conspiracy planned by the anti-state and anti-Church forces could not and will never take place in our country.

“We have all seen them try to use this man’s tragedy to achieve their own political goals. What could be more immoral than trying to achieve your own political goals through the tragedy of a dead person.

“Of course, it does no matter what was the reason for Alexander Lashkarava’s death, all the perpetrators will be punished with absolute severity. The police have already arrested 4 people who were involved in the beating of the person,” Garibashvili said.

He noted the investigation team is working on several versions, including looking into how these aggressive individuals got involved and why they purposely attacked journalists and cameramen. This question must be answered by the investigation.

“There is a version that a revanchist, radical force may also be behind these provocateurs.

“We all remember well my friends and no-one in this country has forgotten what methods these abusers and murderers used to run our country. When terrorist acts were even staged against their own citizens and to achieve their own political goals against our citizens.

Garibashvili noted that at the initiative of the family of the deceased and at the request of the television, an independent expert is involved in the process, an international expert will also be involved in the investigation and all questions will be answered as soon as possible.
