Following Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s statements, the Ambassador of Georgia to Moldova was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova.
The MFA’s statement on the summons notes that Georgian Ambassador Davit Bochorishvili was called to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs because of Irakli Kobakhidze’s statement regarding the elections held in Moldova.
“The Moldovan side expressed deep dissatisfaction with the distorted and inappropriate manner in which Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, in his public speech, addressed the topic of the European integration of Moldova and the election process in our country,” the MFA’s statement reads.
On November 7, PM Kobakhidze, speaking about the violations in the parliamentary elections of Georgia, said that “if there were any election issues, it was what happened in Moldova”.
