Georgia Reports 824 New Cases of Coronavirus, 46 Deaths

Georgia Reports 824 New Cases of Coronavirus, 46 Deaths

4811 tests have been administered nation-wide within the past 24 hours, out of which 2480 were antigen-based and 2331 PCR tests.

As a result of the administered tests, 824 new cases have been confirmed within the last 24 hours, while the total number of infected reached 209,462 since the detection of the first case of COVID 19 in the country.

4227 individuals have recovered from COVID-19 within the last 24 hours, while the total number of recoveries has increased to 184,668.

Unfortunately, 46 individuals have died of the virus in the last 24 hours. The total death toll has reached 2140 since the outbreak.

Of the 824 new cases confirmed today in the country:

333 cases were detected in Tbilisi, 84 – in Adjara, 111 – in Imereti, 67 – in Kvemo Kartli, 78 – in Shida Kartli, 23 – in Guria, 41 – in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 35 – in Kakheti, 35 – in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 17 – in Samtskhe-Javakheti and 0 – in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.

At present, active cases of current viral infection stand at 22,628, out of which:

6627 individuals are treated at hospitals, out of which 2903 are stationed in Tbilisi, 747 – in Adjara and 1347 – in Imereti.

1094 patients are in critical condition, of which 526 are based in Tbilisi, 133 – in Adjara, and 236 – in Imereti. Lung ventilators are used in the case of 430 patients with acute health conditions, out of which 219 are stationed in Tbilisi, 40 – in Adjara and , 63 – in Imereti.

1824 individuals are in clinical hotels,  of which 690 are based in Tbilisi, 800 – in Adjara and 123 – in Imereti.

14,177 individuals are being treated at home.

489 individuals are placed at quarantine spaces, out of which 221 are based in Tbilisi, 141 – in Adjara and 7 – in Imereti.

20,741 individuals in total have been transported from the sovereign border of Georgia to quarantine spaces in the period of October 6 through December 20.

Currently, 42,292 individuals are self-isolated, of which 18,992 are based in Tbilisi, 5187 – in Adjara and 6088 – in Imereti.
