Georgia is set to welcome the next generation of international rugby talent as the World Rugby U20 Championship begins on June 27.
The prestigious tournament serves as a global platform for emerging rugby players to showcase their skills on the international stage, with many future stars of the sport taking their first major steps toward professional success at this competition.
Following the successful hosting of the tournament in 2017, Georgia has once again been entrusted by World Rugby to organize the championship. This year’s edition marks a significant milestone, featuring a new expanded format that increases the number of participating teams from 12 to 16, creating even greater competition and generating heightened interest among rugby fans worldwide.
The championship will run from June 27 through July 18. Matches will be hosted at Avchala Stadium in Tbilisi and AIA Arena in Kutaisi, while the third-place playoff and the final will take place at Mikheil Meskhi Stadium in Tbilisi.
Georgia’s U20 national team will compete in Pool A alongside defending champions South Africa, Wales, and Uruguay. Pool B features New Zealand, Italy, Scotland, and Japan; Pool C includes Argentina, England, Ireland, and the United States; while Pool D brings together France, Australia, Spain, and Fiji.
As young athletes prepare to compete on the world stage, success depends on more than talent alone. Belief in oneself, trust in a team, and confidence in the future are equally important. This shared belief in potential is why TBC continues to support Georgian rugby.
At TBC, we believe that recognizing opportunities and investing in people’s potential creates the foundation for success — in sport, education, technology, and life. Supporting young talent and helping future generations achieve their goals remains at the core of TBC’s mission.
