Ursula von der Leyen has arrived in Armenia, Armenian media reports.
The European Commission President was welcomed at Zvartnots International Airport by Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan.
During her visit to Yerevan, von der Leyen is scheduled to hold talks with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Following the meeting, the two leaders are expected to deliver joint statements.
Von der Leyen’s visit to Armenia comes a day after her trip to Azerbaijan, where she met with President Ilham Aliyev.
Speaking at a joint press conference after that meeting, the European Commission President announced that the European Union would invest €200 million in transport, energy, and digital connectivity projects across the South Caucasus.
