Anaklia Port Construction Set to Begin in Spring 2024 with 70 Million GEL Budget Allocation

At the government meeting, the Prime Minister announced that the construction of the port of Anaklia will start in the spring of next year. 70 million GEL will be allocated from the country’s budget for this project. He notes the selection of the investor is currently actively underway and the identity of the investor will be announced in December-January at the latest, and the construction of the port will start in March-April.

“I would like to inform you of important news: 70 million GEL has been allocated for the construction of Anaklia port. We allocated 20 million this year, and 50 million will be invested in 2024. In other words, the necessary funds from our side have already been mobilized. According to the plan, construction will begin in the spring. The selection of the investor is actively underway, which will be completed soon. At the latest, we will announce the winning investor in December-January and we will jointly start the construction of Anaklia port in March-April 2024,” said Garibashvili.
