Gakharia’s Sichinava: “If Kaladze and other mayors are 20%ers, why did you deceive the people?”

Berdia Sichinava, a member of the Gakharia for Georgia party, criticized opposition groups for claiming that Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze and other mayors won with only 20% legitimacy.

“For two days, I’ve been hearing boycott advocates and failed revolutionaries say: ‘Kaladze is a 20% mayor,’ ‘he has 20% legitimacy.’ The most audacious part is that they use this claim to justify their harmful boycott stance,” Sichinava wrote on social media.

“If Kaladze and other mayors are 20%ers, why did you deceive the people? Why did you leave them at home and take away their faith in victory? Are you fools or in cahoots with Georgian Dream? Why did you hand over everything to Georgian Dream at the local level and abandon citizens to face their feudal lords and corrupt officials alone?”

Sichinava stressed that “no one can escape responsibility” and said all actions will be “reevaluated.”
