The Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia has announced plans to restore Tbilisi’s State Concert Hall, more commonly known as the Philharmonic Hall, a cultural heritage monument.
The ministry stated that the Municipal Development Fund has initiated a market research process to prepare detailed design and cost-estimation documentation for the rehabilitation project. This stage is expected to take nine months after which the construction and restoration phase will begin.
The project aims to preserve the building’s original architectural appearance while integrating modern engineering and technological systems. Once complete, the renovated Philharmonic will not only retain its historic character but also meet contemporary demands and international standards.
Officials emphasized that the upgraded facility will be a modern, multifunctional cultural hub. It will be capable of hosting high-profile concerts, international festivals, exhibitions as well as cultural and educational events.
