During an eviction on Tvalchrelidze Street, police detained 17 individuals. The Ministry of Internal Affairs says the detainees were apprehended under Article 173 of the Administrative Offenses Code.
Among those detained are civic activists and several residents of the building in question. The eviction began yesterday morning, with police and representatives of the National Bureau of Enforcement mobilized at the scene.
The arrival of patrol police sparked protests from residents, leading to several confrontations.
The eviction is based on a claim by a private owner who argues the building is unsafe and must be vacated.
