The EU4Culture Network Festival, ‘City Stories, Diverse Voices – Action’, a funded project spanning over four years in Georgia, celebrated the finale on September 21. The festival, accommodated at Art House Gori, featured more than 25 Georgian artists alongside participants from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, and Ukraine. The event displayed a variety of art exhibitions, discussions, workshops, and performances.
EU ambassador Pawel Herczynski highlighted the significance of such projects in facilitating the integration with the EU. The most noteworthy achievements of the project are cultural development agendas for the cities of Poti, Kutaisi, and Zugdidi, exchange grants for over 70 artists, and customized training for 60 public officials.
EU4Culture projects are executed by the Goethe-Institut with the joint efforts of other similar institutions and, with its budget of EUR 7.85 million, strives to nurture the cultural sector, particularly in cities other than capitals.
