The President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili congratulated the citizens of Georgia on Constitution Day.
On August 24, 1995, the Parliament of Georgia adopted the supreme law of the country – the Constitution of Georgia.
“The Constitution, as a document of national consent, unity, and development, is not only the supreme law of the country, or simply a set of norms, but it is a unifying document of the citizens of our country.
“We, each member of society and all together must sincerely and firmly uphold and serve its goals and principles.
“This year marks the 100th anniversary of the first constitution of our country, which even today is recognized as one of the progressive constitutions by its values and stands out even among the basic laws of modernity,” Zurabishvili posted on her Facebook page.
