BMG reported that the planned entry of Starbucks into the Georgian market has been delayed, as disclosed by multiple sources familiar with the project.

While the initiative has not been canceled, the timeline for opening the first branch has shifted from its first expected launch in March 2026. The reasons for the delay have not been publicly disclosed.

Starbucks is entering Georgia through Alshaya Group, which holds franchise rights for the brand in several internationalmarkets. Operations in Georgia are being coordinated through the company’s Turkey office.

Current plans show that the coffee chain intends to open its initial locations in Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Batumi, while Early Tbilisi locations are expected to include Axis Towers and Tbilisi Outlet Village. Additional sites have not yet been officially disclosed.

The long-term strategy envisions the development of approximately 50 stores nationwide over the next 7–8 years, a significant expansion commitment.

Both Enterprise Georgia and representatives of the operating company have not provided detailed plans regarding the reasons behind the delay.
