The Ministry of Internal Affairs reports that Georgian law enforcement detained 31 people on February 2 during the protest on Agmashenebeli Alley near Tbilisi Mall.
The arrests were made under Article 173, which concerns disobedience to a lawful police order. Among the detained individuals were former Tbilisi Mayor Gigi Ugulava and former Georgian National Bank President Giorgi Kadagidze, who, as witnesses said, was taken into custody while standing on the sidewalk.
Some detainees have already been released, including Nika Melia, a leader of the Coalition for Change.
