Salome Zurabishvili, the President of Georgia tweeted that Georgia is celebrating and remembering all who fought and brought Georgian people this day, preserving the country’s identity and freedom.

“Celebrating 26 of May, our Independence Day ,and remembering all who fought and brought us this day, preserved our identity and freedom. They gave their blood and sacrificed their lives, so that we could speak out for ourselves, choose Georgia’s future, and claim our Europeanity,” she wrote.
