Operators from the First Separate Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces, in cooperation with Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces and other Defense Forces units, carried out a strike on the Grushovaya oil transshipment facility in Novorossiysk, Krasnodar Krai, Ukrainian media reported.
The Grushovaya oil depot, owned by Chernomortransneft, is considered one of the largest oil product storage facilities in the Caucasus region.
Based on Ukrainian reports, the facility is used to receive, store, and transship oil and petroleum products delivered through trunk pipelines before being exported by sea. The complex is said to generate significant revenue for the Russian federal budget, which Ukraine says is used to finance Moscow’s military operations against the country.
Ukraine’s General Staff reported that a fire broke out at the site following the strike.
The extent of the damage is currently being assessed.
