Trial Related to Postponement of Saakashvili’s Sentence or His Release Underway in the Tbilisi City Court

The trial related to the postponement of the sentence for Mikheil Saakashvili, or the release from the sentence, is underway in the Tbilisi City Court.

Saakashvili does not attend the session either remotely or physically due to his complicated condition.

At today’s trial, foreign experts will be interrogated, who participated in the examination on Saakashvili’s health.

According to Shalva Khachapuridze, the lawyer of the third president of Georgia, their key witness, the American toxicologist, David Smith, will be questioned at today’s trial.

The lawyer claims that the medical cards prove that Saakashvili is not actually being treated at the Vivamedi clinic.

For information, Saakashvili’s lawyers applied to the court for the postponement of the sentence or the release from the sentence for the former president of Georgia. Judge Giorgi Arevadze will consider the said motion.
