The head of the Special Penitentiary Service’s Medical Department, Malkhaz Urtkmelidze, stated that the condition of Mzia Amaglobeli, the founder of Batumelebi, is satisfactory and stable.
Urtkmelidze urged Amaglobeli to end her hunger strike.
“Mzia Amaglobeli’s condition is satisfactory and stable. She is being monitored continuously. Laboratory tests are conducted almost daily. At this stage, based on the latest data, no significant changes have been observed.
The defendant is visited daily by a representative of the Public Defender’s Office, who is informed about her health. This information is also available to her lawyer upon request.
Once again, we emphasize that the safety and health of every prisoner are our priorities. At this stage, Mzia Amaglobeli’s life is not in danger. Care for her health will continue uninterrupted.
“We urge Mzia Amaglobeli to end her hunger strike in the best interest of her health,” stated Urtkmelidze.
