The investigative media platform ‘Studio Monitori’ says it has come under a coordinated cyberattack following the publication of a journalistic investigation into “Trump Tower” in Tbilisi and alleged links to a network of online casinos.
The investigation, titled “Trump Tower in Tbilisi – a fraudulent network of online casinos and Russian connections,” examined possible links between Georgian construction companies and unlicensed online casino operations, which were later reportedly connected to the Trump Tower Tbilisi project.
Studio Monitori said groups of users began mass reporting its content across YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram, targeting materials related to its investigations.
As a result, the platform says Meta informed it that several of its posts were removed, while one video was taken down from YouTube, which concerned alleged connections between Georgian companies and unlicensed online casino networks.
The organization also said it received an email from an address linked to fraudulent networks, requesting the removal of its investigative content from its website.
Monitori said it has appealed the decisions of both YouTube and Meta and is working to identify those behind what it describes as a coordinated attack.
The outlet added that it will continue publishing on issues of public interest.
