The Ministry of Internal Affairs reports that police officers of the Vake-Saburtalo Main Directorate have detained Manana Giorgobiani on charges of organizing and participating in group violence. The offence is punishable by up to nine years in prison.
Ministry says the incident occurred late at night on November 2. Giorgobiani allegedly verbally insulted two supermarket employees — identified as T.M. (born in 2006) and E.M. (born in 2004) — before contacting an acquaintance, J.Ch. (born in 1996), who arrived at the scene accompanied by others. The group then forcibly removed the employees outside and subjected them to a physical assault.
Law enforcement has identified all six individuals involved in the attack. Investigative actions are ongoing to determine the whereabouts of the remaining suspects and to bring them to justice.
The case is being investigated under Articles 225 and 126 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which concern group violence and the organization of group violence.
