Law enforcement officers have conducted searches at properties belonging to Dimitri Chikovani, a member of the United National Movement, and the brother of Davit Kezerashvili’s wife.
It is still being determined whether the searches were done with warrants, in the scope of an urgent matter, or as part of scheduled operations. Journalists were not allowed to enter the buildings, allegedly without explanations.
“There are ongoing search procedures, and it’s prohibited for you to be present,” an officer told Mtavari’s journalist, urging her to contact the institution’s press center for details.
Reports indicated that Chikovani’s apartment was likely uninhabited during the operation, with officers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs being present, however, no official reason or time limit for the searches has been disclosed.
